New Year, New Studio

I’m pretty sure nothing will beat 2017 since we welcomed our sweet baby Josephine into our family, but 2018 has a few tricks up it’s sleeve.  In August, we said goodbye to our studio space in Hagerstown, MD.  It was just too far of a drive and more than what we needed.  Although I love photographing families and children in their own environment or outside in natural light, that doesn’t always fit the bill for what someone is looking for and, sometimes, the weather just won’t cooperate (hello 2 weeks of subzero temps in the northeast!!).  When you think of studio photography, the cheesy, overdone look comes to mind; you don’t get those pretty, natural organic images you (or is it just me?!) craves!  Well I’m here to change your perception.  My style vision for my new space is light, bright, natural, organic, and very lifestyle in nature.  I want to simplify the studio experience and create timeless, classic images that never look trendy and can be enjoyed for many years to come.  This means that, YES, we will still get the photos of your child smiling at the camera, but we will also get the other stuff.  The stuff you don’t want to forget.  The silly faces, the serious faces, the goofy faces.  Lets be honest, we don’t want to miss a single face from our kids being teeny tiny.  Am I right?!

The types of sessions that will best suit our new space are baby and children portraits, cake smashes, maternity,  and small families (no large groups please).  We will be offering sessions year round and will be hosting a few mini sessions as well.  So where is our new space?  Well that’s another aspect of changing locations that was important to me.  I wanted to be able to control the studio better: the climate, the parking, the cleaning, etc.  So what worked best was converting part of my home office in Chambersburg, PA into a studio space.  I can now provide a better experience for my clients, which is of the utmost importance to me.

I can’t wait to start shooting in the new space and already have a couple sessions booked!  In order to convey my vision, my kids very happily obliged to be my models (AKA I bartered photos for extra Goldfish with the toddler).  So check out the photos to see what our style is for this studio and stay tuned for a mini-session offering very soon!

XO,

Jen
